Alexi Freeman

(Pilates instructor)

Alexi Freeman began his clinical Pilates journey in the late 1990s to improve his balance and coordination for his circus and physical theatre practice. He later moved to New York – where Joseph Pilates opened his first studio almost a century ago – deepening his practice at a range of Manhattan-based studios.

With over 20 years of experience exploring Pilates and related movement modalities, Alexi experienced a turning point in 2021 when a running-related foot fracture led to months of rehabilitation through clinical Pilates.

Inspired by the transformative power of this healing process, he completed his Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates & Teaching Methodology through Tensegrity Training and where he has also studied the all clinical apparatus.

Alexi has a special interest in helping clients build neuromuscular awareness and deep abdominal strength, integrating mindful breathwork with aligned movement to maximise the benefit of each exercise.

Outside the studio, Alexi enjoys gardening, trail running, tennis and yoga, and works as a freelance journalist exploring art, design, and sustainability. He looks forward to supporting you on your strength and mobility journey.
